Hello, Shifters! I recently had the privilege of interviewing Alexandra Clawson, a teacher turned brand influencer for It Works! Check out the story of her SHIFT below.
Alexandra is a very sweet teacher who is working diligently to mentor others, as well as build her own business as a brand influencer for a health and wellness company, It Works! Ms. Clawson’s educational background is similar to many teachers, a degree in education-early childhood education to be exact, as well as American studies.
Spending time with Alexandra allowed me the opportunity to learn that she is very interested in history. A former teacher nurtured the love of history and teaching through hands-on, interactive lessons. Originally, Alexandra wanted to share her love of learning teaching middle school history, but opted for early childhood education instead.
Alexandra is an amazing early childhood educator. She enjoys bringing excitement into her classroom and loves decorating for her students. Ms. Clawson is also very creative and wanted the freedom to plan creative and engaging lessons for her students, just as her former teacher had done.
Exclusion
Unfortunately, Alexandra has suffered from educational negativity, just as many of have experienced. You see, other teachers exclude her because she loves being involved within her room, helping her students strive to be their best. There is cliquiness and cattiness among teachers, and a stigma of competitiveness for teachers who go above and beyond. Many people in this day and age discourage those of us who enjoy what some call “over-achievement.”
The Shift
Ready to leave the stress behind, Alexandra pledged to build her own legacy as a brand influencer. What does that entail? For starters, she gets to set her own schedule! She also has the privilege of helping others achieve health wellness! Alexandra has client that she educates on the benefits of health products by It Works! These products help them achieve the healthier life of their dreams!
Alexandra not only helps clients but she assists others in finding financial freedom, which is her favorite part of her new role. She and her team have removed thousands of credit card debt from their lives. Some have the freedom to travel now! They can work from anywhere and networking over social media helps them earn clients.
Double Teaching Salary
The hardest part of brand influencing is having the energy to work on business building after teaching everyday. That’s why Alexandra has created a vision board that includes not returning to teaching next fall. Over the past year, she was worked diligently to double her teaching salary! Brand influencers under Alex say that she is the most amazing mentor and challenges them to grow in ways that they never expected.
Self-development
Alexandra attributes her success to self-development. She is an avid reader and podcast listener. A must-read is Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis and give Lori Harder’s podcast a listen on learning self-love and how to build your tribe! Also, Alex created a vision board last year and it helped keep her dreams in check and on track.
You see, Alex tried being a brand influencer a few years back and found herself not as successful as she had hoped to be. After working on her self-development and creating a vision for herself, she knew she had to “go all in.” She gave It Works! a second chance and is a part of a team that calls themselves “The Tribe” and their slogan is “Together we create freedom!” Now, Alexi has grown into a trusted mentor that is helping other people achieve the freedoms that they desire!
